Dr. Claudio Pavlic heads the Regional Public Defender’s Office,
Southern Metropolitan Region, overseeing a staff of 100 criminal defense lawyers and serving a population of close to 3 million in Santiago, Chile. Prior to taking his current post, he held several top positions in federal and regional public defenders offices, including serving eight months as the interim Public Defender of the Nation. An expert on legal ethics in Chile, Dr. Pavlic has spoken on judicial training and criminal public defense throughout Latin America.
